History
In 400 BC the village of Viviscus was created, it was a stage for legionaries and merchants, at the junction of the roads connecting Italy to the strongholds of Geneva and Avenches.
Vevey looks over the lake to the Alpes descending into Lake Geneva and is surrounded by the UNESCO protected vineyards.
Today it is a melting pot of museums (nest museum, alimentarium, chaplin’s world, Jenish Arts and Cantonal Stamp Museum), culture (Le Reflet, Théâtre des Trois-Quarts) and festivals.
It is also known for two famous previous residents: Charlie Chaplin, who spend 30 years in Vevey, and Mr. Henri Nestlé, who founded in 1866 the largest food company in the world of today
